Being a Girl Scout is valuable and life-changing experience that encourages teamwork and respect as well as leadership and responsibility. Girl Scouting positively affect girls' lives through encouraging them to work and communicate with others. Additionally, Girl Scouts commit themselves to contributing to the improvement of society and, as the Girl Scout Law states, "making the world a better place."

Girl Scouts are divided into Daisy Girl Scouts (ages 5-6), Brownie Girl Scouts (ages 6-8), Junior Girl Scouts (ages 8-11), and "STUDIO 2B" for girls ages 11-17.

The only requirement in joining the Girl Scouts is to accept the Promise and the Law:

Girl Scout Promise

On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

_

Girl Scout Law

I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do

and to

respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Members may substitute wording appropriate to their own spiritual belief for the word "God" if they choose to do so when reciting the Girl Scout Promise.

Joining the Girl Scouts includes a $10 annual membership fee. Financial aid is available if needed!
